She killed her after realizing it was too late to save her, and she feels heavy remorse over not taking care of her. In Meakashi, however, she blames her for Satoshi's disappearance and begins torturing her. Satoko Houjou - Shion treats Satoko like a little sister as a promise to Satoshi. This explained a big part of her current personality. She was convinced he lied to her, and it left her feeling bitter for some time. Satoshi Houjou - She became attached to him when he first showed her genuine kindness, but when he disappeared from Hinamizawa, she was completely devastated over it. Because of this, she imprisons her in the Sonozaki torture chamber, makes her watch several people die, and then kill her just before police can come to rescue her. In Meakashi, as she slowly descends to madness, she starts blaming Mion for Satoshi's disappearance, believing she may have murdered him. She supports her relationship with Keiichi, but isn't above flirting with him and using her charms to try to pull him away for her own amusement.

While Mion seems to adore her sister to the point of suffering with her, Shion isn't above making her suffer if she thinks she deserves it. The twins often switch places with one another. Mion Sonozaki - While they share common traits, Mion and Shion are also very different. In Watanagashi, he hallucinates being attacked by a bloody Shion (disguised as Mion). Despite recovering in the hospital, he later dies of acute heart failure. He is spared, but later ends up being stabbed by Shion. Keiichi Maebara - Hit on the head with a rock and is planned to be tortured. Like Oryo, Shion believed that she had a part in Satoshi's disappearance. Mion Sonozaki - Fell to her death in a well after being tased. She felt heavy remorse upon realizing that Satoko never did anything wrong, but by then, it was too late to save her. As Satoshi's little sister, Shion believed that she pushed him into a corner that drove him insane and that she lied to her when saying he would return home. In the anime, she is stabbed in the arms as a form of torture before finally being stabbed in the forehead. In some scenarios, she dies of hemorrhagic shock the day afterward. Satoko Houjou - Tied to a cross and stabbed repeatedly with a dagger. After not revealing his whereabouts, he was tased and hung on a restraining device until he died. Kiichiro Kimiyoshi - Shion believed he had a part in Satoshi's disappearance. In some scenarios, she claws her throat out after stabbing herself. She then commits suicide in front of Shion by stabbing herself with a knife. In Meakashi, it is revealed that she and Shion got into a fight before getting a mysterious substance injected into her. Rika Furude - Initially thought to have been tortured to death. Shion believed she had a part in the disappearance of Satoshi. Her body was then whipped, causing severe lacerations on her scalp and head, and thrown down a well. Oryo Sonozaki - Tased by Shion and died from the shock. It is believed that she is actually the older twin of the Sonozaki twins, but at some point in the past, she and Mion switched identities as children. She works at the Angel Mort restaurant while assisting the Hinamizawa Fighters little league team.

She escaped not too long afterwards with the help of her bodyguard Tatsuyoshi Kasai.Īfter her escape, she shared a home with Kasai in Okinomiya. Growing up, Shion was abused by her family, once having to rip off three fingernails as punishment for liking Satoshi and being shipped off to a private boarding school, tearing her away from Mion. After befriending the main cast, she seemed to grow slightly better. She is fairly unhinged but desperately craves affection from others.

But while Mion's manipulation can span to a crowd, Shion prefers manipulating a single person at a time on a personal level. She shares a lot in common with Mion, being playful and socially intelligent, and they both have a huge weakness dealing with romance, both also have a hatred of their grandmother and are good at manipulating people. She is normally found in the school uniform worn in the series.Ĭompared to her sister, Shion is feminine with a flirty, toying personality that can become selfish over her own wants or needs. She has short tent bangs framing her face and a fair complexion. Shion resembles her twin sister, having dark turquoise eyes and long emerald hair worn with two gold ribbons.
