I used a piece of scrap metal to make a patch, and made a trip to the hardware store to get some nuts/blots/washers, it probably took me more time to drive a couple miles to the Ace store than it did to make the repair.

The creeper had a crack in the plastic creeper body for one of the middle wheels, where the wheel ass'y. I didn't need one, and one more thing to be in the way if I wanted to sell it on CL. I swung my truck by the pile, and asked him if he would help me with the blasting cabinet, which I could have lifted by myself, but two people for a bulky item, much-easier! He said, sure.Īs we loaded the blasting cabinet another picker pulled-up, and I took the bottle jack and the creeper, but left the AC. Fourth item was a probably 10 ton bottle jack, re-painted, so no label. The third item brought to the curb was a HFT plastic creeper, greasy/dirty, but it appeared intact, and no bent wheels. No interior light, and the view port was a bit frosty, but you could still see what you were doing. The gloves were still intact, and it had glass beads in it. He said it worked, but could use a bit of maintenance. Next was a HFT benchtop media blaster, complete. He'd already brought out a 120 volt window-shaker AC which he said, worked, and it still was covered in moisture, and the entire housing was cool, so he wasn't fibbing. As I cruised down the warehouse district, I was passing a foreign car shop, an independent one, and the employee was hauling things ot to the curb. Thanks for the input guys, I got the rough rider and it works great a little higher but it rolls right over just about anything.I was going to an electrical supply house to get some molex nylon pin male & female plugs, pins & whatever else I saw. What about a creeper for outdoor use? I don't have access to an indoor shop. They will last forever and dont jam on small imperfections and gravel. If you have rough floors order up a set of roller skate wheels with ball bearings. I have a dog bone and I like it, but it wouldn't work good for grating. Why yes, the ORIGinal CHARGER is a Fastback I'm 6' 5" so I avoid short creepers and ones that tend to flip up when I sit down on em. like a physically larger creeper to accommodate those wheels and more cost up front too. Getting the air filled wheels makes rolling over rough surfaces easier the the hard plastic ones. The larger wheels will roll over the grates (depending on the spacing), sand and gravel on the floor easier then a small wheeled creeper.

With a poor floor condition and grates I would be looking for something with a large pneumatic tire, I have seen them from Mac tools but I'm sure they are avail through others. I use and love the dog bone creeper, I have used the jeeper creepers too and like them as well. who has the best creeper and whats your thoughts on that dog bone one, I dont want to buy a junk on again. I got a cheap creeper from harbour frieght and it only lasted about a month. Ok a little off topic but I need to get a new creeper, we dont have hoists and our floor has grates and is in preety rough shape.
